Ortiz Silent for Too Long

Waiting is not helping this man's cause.Just how long does it take to make a statement about being named on the list of failed drug tests from 2003? It seems David Ortiz needs about a week.

How many attorneys and team officials are needed to get the story straight? With each day that passes, whatever story he tells, whichever excuse he makes, David Ortiz will be that much less credible.

He hasn't said a word yet and already I don't believe him.

Get it over with, Big Papi. The sooner you speak, the quicker we can begin to look the other way as long as the team is winning. Because that's all we fans can do now that we're caught up in this era of liars and cheaters.

Steve, I was thinking about Ortiz this morning. He needs to address this before we go to NY - OR is the plan for him not to play in NY?

I just don't get why he didn't talk right after Sunday's game. Yesterday was an off-day. He should have spoken so we could take some time away from the game yesterday to process his side of the story. My guess is he speaks just before the NY series in the hope that the NY-Boston rivalry will take some of the heat off of his situation. I think it will be a total distraction.

So far the Red Sox haven't look distracted. Haven't you guys won every game since the story broke? That said, I agree that he should get it over with and talk to the media, otherwise it looks as if he's formulating a "strategy." But honestly? No matter what he does, he'll hear it at Yankee Stadium. That's just a fact of life.

Yes, so far undefeated since the story broke. But how will the team react with the media distraction and the booing that is sure to ensue. With any luck it will blow over and we can move on--until the next set of names is released.

More of the same... these guys will never learn. Scott Boras is for sure behind the scenes, pulling the strings. Evil. Meanwhile, we, the fans, the ones who REALLY matter suffer and no one in charge really seems to care.

When are they going to change their name from the Boston Red Sox to the Boston PED Sox?

I think Thursday afternoon, right around 2:45 p.m. Eastern time.
