Papi's Back and So Am I

Great job, David. Now hit another 35 or so if it's not too much trouble. My timing, as always, is perfect.

I had planned a return to blogging today after a brief hiatus that involved a computer repair and a weekend-killing, 15-hour grant writing course.

The good news is the old Mac is up and running and will remain so until I can afford an upgrade. MacBook Pro or a new iMac desktop?

The other good news is that David Ortiz finally hit his first home run of the season. Looks like Terry Francona's decision to sit him out of that series in Seattle paid off. And it wasn't a cheap homer that slipped inside the Pesky Pole. This was a legit blast to straightaway center field.

One thing that stands out is the fan support for David Ortiz during his awful start to the season. Rather than booing him, the crowd was on their feet, chanting Papi! Papi! even before he hit the home run. I'm not so sure any other player would have received such support after failing at the plate for nearly a quarter of the season. But considering what Ortiz has meant to the fans in Boston since 2003, this should come as no surprise.

Good work, Sox fans!

Welcome back and congrats to Ortiz and the RS Nation! As for your Mac, I have a MacBook Pro and have been very happy with it - except I seem to have a defective battery. I was supposed to let it run down every now and then and didn't; I almost always kept it charged. So now it's back to the Apple Store, but it's covered under my warranty. Whew.

Sorry to hear about your computer issues, Steve. I too endured some a couple weeks ago, losing a couple valuable things but by and large having everything else backed up. I'd sooner do without my TV than my computer any day.
