Finally

15 years on the ballot was way too long for a dominant player like Jim Rice to wait.
Congratulations to Jim Rice on his election to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Next: Retire #14 at Fenway.

Congrats to you and the rest of Red Sox nation in celebrating Jim Rice's entry into the Hall of Fame. Check out my thoughts about Rice in my latest entry at http://mlbtribefan.mlblogs.com. One thing I can definitely say is whether waiting for World Series titles before 2004 or Hall of Fame announcements long overdue, perserverance definitely pays off! Once again, congratulations!

They gotta retire his number now, right? Rice is a paragon of class and patience. So glad to see him get in... just hope Rickey doesn't upstage him too much at the ceremony ;-)

Steve,

"Congratulations" [again] on Jim Rice being voted into the Hall of Fame; and, as the other thoughts above have already stated, it is now time for the Sox to retire Jim Rice's #14 ... Also, "Congratulations" on your blog being ranked #15 on the new mlblogs Leader's List !!! ... Jimmy [27NYY], "BY&L" ... http://baseballtheyankeesandlife.mlblogs.com/

Congrats on another Latest Leaders inclusion!

Yes, retired number 14, agreed! How long do they wait though?

I hope Rice's number is retired on opening day or against the Yankees.
