Damon Hurt on Weird Play; Sox Win 6-4
Just when you think you've seen everything: Kevin Youkilis hit a ball to the outfield that grazed the top of Johnny Damon's glove and almost made it over the fence. After a brief pause, the ball then rolled back into the outfield as Youkilis made it to third base. Damon hurt his shoulder when he slammed into the wall. The Sox went on to win 6-4.
If Damon is headed for the disabled list, it would be his first trip. Pretty impressive for a guy who's playing in his 14th season. The good news for the Red Sox is that Damon's hot bat will not be a factor for the rest of the series.

That was one of the strangest plays I've ever seen on a baseball field, as the ball just sat there. That photo above, and a couple others from behind the fence, are among the best I've seen lately. My Yanks have just not impressed me, although I'm happy they won today. Boston has had a ton of injuries to weather and they have done pretty well, much better than the Yanks who, with injuries, have been just plain inconsistent offensively
Damn Tampa.
